Clapham North to Morden Tube Walk

Clapham North to Clapham Common

Clapham High Street is full of shops and cars. There are so many cars that it is difficult to get good photos of the shops.

Here is Clapham Common tube station.

Clapham Common to Clapham South

I walk through part of Clapham Common passing this mutant tree.

On the other side of Clapham Common is Clapham South underground station.

Clapham South to Balham

I continue south on Balham Hill.

It turns into Balham High Road passing the Hildreth Street Market before arriving at Balham tube station.

Balham to Tooting Bec

I walk south west on Balham High Road.

At the major crossroads is Tooting Bec tube station.

Tooting Bec to Tooting Broadway

On Upper Tooting Road are many shops selling goods aimed at the local asian population.

A short walk gets me to Tooting Broadway tube station.

Tooting Broadway to Colliers Wood

There are many Indian restaurants and food shops on Tooting High Street as well as other asian cuisines.

After heading into a more residential part of the road I reach Colliers Wood.

Colliers Wood to South Wimbledon

The road leads over the River Wandle and past more residential properties.

I head west on Merton High Street and then arrive at South Wimbledon tube station.

South Wimbledon to Morden

To get to Morden I walk south on Morden Road passing an industrial park and other local shops.

After turning east onto London Road I reach Morden tube station, the final stop on my Northern line tube walk.

Northern Line Walk – Day 4 Summary

It was a long walk today totaling about five hours.

  1. Cool article! You wouldn’t think initially that it would be that interesting a walk, but there is so much to see once you know what you’re looking for. Bomb shelters, disused cinemas etc. Thanks.
