Watford to Croxley
On leaving Watford underground station I turn left and go down some of the local streets.
On Watford Road I cross the Grand Union Canal. Here I spot someone sailing a canal boat. On these walks I’ve passed many canals and seen plenty of canal boats, but this is the first time that I have seen a moving one!
I continue south west on Watford Road. At the end of Watford Road I reach a town centre.
Just beyond the town centre is Croxley tube station.
Croxley to Moor Park
I walk down a footpath and pass the Grand Union Canal again. I then walk into Croxley Common Moor and follow the southbound footpath.
At the south end of the moor I reach an area I passed on my Rickmansworth to Moor Park walk. Instead of following the same route on Moor Lane I head east on a cycle and walking path.
I keep going east until I reach Vicarage Road. Here I walk south on a footpath through a farmer’s field and past another fishing lake.
Many of the houses round here are connected to the waterways.
The final part of the route is on Sandy Lodge Lane. This is a private road with large houses on it. On the south side is the Sandy Lodge Golf Club.
At the west end of Sandy Lodge Lane is a second entrance to Moor Park tube station.
