East Finchley to Highgate
On leaving East Finchley I walk down the Great North Road.
On Archway Road I take a diversion into Highgate Wood and walk through it until I get to Muswell Hill.
After rejoining Archway Road I make it to Highgate tube station.
Highgate to Archway
I walk further along Archway Road and pass under the Archway Bridge.
I pass this impressive 19th Century building and then spot Archway Tower, underneath which is Archway tube station.
Archway to Tufnell Park
On Junction road is a standard mix of houses and shops.
Further down Junction Road is Tufnell Park underground station.
Tufnell Park to Kentish Town
On Fortress Road as I head towards Camden, the buildings start to get more colourful.
Here is Kentish Town tube station.
Kentish Town to Camden Town
Kentish Town Road is lined with shops. There are residential properties on the side roads.
The road passes over the canal with its locks before it reaches Camden Town tube station.
Camden Town to Euston
If you are very observant you may be wondering why I’m not including Mornington Crescent between Camden Town and Euston tube stations. It is because I am doing the Bank branch first and then once I reach Kennington I will return to Camden to do the Charing Cross branch.
Just after the station I pass the famous World’s End pub and Underworld music venue and then walk onto Camden High Street.
The section of Camden High Street, to the south of Camden tube station, is much less colourful than the section to the north of the station.
I walk down Eversholt Street and then reach Euston station.
Euston to King’s Cross St. Pancras
On Euston Road this building called Evergreen House lives up to its name.
I pass the British Library and then arrive at King’s Cross St. Pancras tube station.
Hi
Has anyone walked from Highgate to Kings Cross, St.Pancras – I need to do this.
Thanks
Sara
