Central Line Walk – Day 8
North Acton to Hangar Lane
Having completed the Ealing Broadway branch of the Central line I headed back to North Acton to walk the West Ruislip branch.
I left the station, went up Park Royal Road and into Coronation Road. Around Coronation Road are many industrial units. I spotted one belonging to the company where I order my printed photos from.

I crossed the train track at the below bridge and walked past a derelict building.
After walking along the Western Avenue I arrive at Hanger Lane tube station which in located on a large roundabout.
Hangar Lane to Perivale
I continue west along the Western Avenue and pass a golf course.

The Hoover building is a good example of art deco architecture. It used to house the vacuum cleaner company. I cross a foot bridge, go north up South Horsenden Lane and reach Perivale underground station.
Perivale to Greenford
To make a change from the Western Avenue I continue north until I reach the Grand Union Canal.

I continue along the canal the a short distance and then head through a park to reach Greenford tube station.
Greenford to Northolt
On the next part of my walk I pass a bakery on Oldfield Lane and an allotment on Carr Road.

At the end of Carr Road I turn left and then arrive at Northolt tube station.
Northolt to South Ruislip
On Eastcote lane a new sports centre is being built. At the moment it doesn’t quite look like the artist’s impression.

After the houses on Field End Road the area becomes filled with industrial warehouses and a large retail park.
I pass the glass South Ruislip Library and then reach South Ruislip tube station.
South Ruislip to Ruislip Gardens
At the end of Station Approach I turn right and walk past R.A.F Northolt Aerodrome. It isn’t a very busy air field. I didn’t see a single plane taking off or landing whilst I was nearby.

Further along West End Road I get to Ruislip Gardens.
Ruislip Gardens to West Ruislip
I continue up West End Road passing some shops and houses.

I then turn into Wood Lane, down Ickenham Road, and finally reach West Ruislip tube station. This is the last stop on my Central line walk.
