Bromley-by-Bow to Tower Hill Tube Walk

Bromley-by-Bow to Bow Road

I pass the this derelict building and turn right into Devas Street which is a residential street with many large blocks of council flats around it.

I walk north up Campbell Road and on Bow Road I reach Bow Road tube station.

Bow Road to Mile End

A short walk along Bow Road brings me to Mile End tube station.

Mile End to Stepney Green

On Mile End Road I pass one of the Queen Mary University of London buildings.

Just after the junction to Globe Road I reach Stepney Green tube station.

Stepney Green to Whitechapel

This area of London is known as the ‘East End’. The shops and buildings have a distinctive look.

The Whitechapel Street Market runs on the north side of Whitechapel Road. It sells mainly clothes, fruit and brick-a-brack. In the middle of the market is Whitechapel tube station.

Whitechapel to Aldgate East

I continue to walk through the market and pass the East London Mosque. It is one of the largest in the country with four minarets and a large dome.

Here is Aldgate East tube station.

Aldgate East to Tower Hill

I walk through a bus station near Aldgate tube station and then south down the Minories.

Near to Tower Hill tube station is one of the last remaining sections of the London Wall. The Tower of London is visible in the background. I then reach the station itself.
