Monument to Tower Hill
On leaving Monument station I head in the direction of the Tower of London. Today the tower is used to house the Crown Jewels. In the past it has been a royal palace, a prison and a place of execution.
Just to the North of the Tower of London is Tower Hill tube station.
Tower Hill to Aldgate
After passing Tower Hill I head up the Minories passing a number of office blocks.
To the right on Aldgate High Street is Aldgate underground station.
Aldgate to Liverpool Street
On Middlesex Street (also known as Petticoat Lane) are many textile and clothes shops.
I pass Liverpool Street station and head along Liverpool Street.
On Liverpool Street is the entrance to the tube station.
Liverpool Street to Moorgate
Next I head along Eldon Street.
I soon reach Moorgate.
Moorgate to Barbican
Once past this modern office block I head into the Barbican residential area.
The architecture in this area is very interesting and it is well worth spending a bit of time walking around.
Once out of the Barbican I get to the Barbican tube station.
Barbican to Farringdon
There are some nice buildings on Charterhouse Square.
I then go along Cowcross Street until I get to Farringdon tube station.
